I can measure the timeline of my life with vehicles of one kind or another.
It all started in the late ’80s with a snowmobile that my grandfather bought for me and my brothers. As soon as the snow melted I sold the snowmobile for $100 and bought a 1973 Hodaka Combat Wombat 125 from my neighbor for $100 and I have been riding and wrenching ever since.
In one years time I owned three additional dirt bikes and had rebuilt my first engine.
I bought my first BMW a few months before my 21st birthday. It was a non-running but complete BMW 1976 r75 6 I stripped the bike to the bare frame, repainted it reassembled the chassis, rebuilt the brakes put on new tires reinstalled the motor with a fresh top and repainted the body with my father. I was riding it by Memorial Day!
In 1997 I purchased a 1981 r100 RT, and that’s the bike that changed my life. Soon after I took my first long distance motorcycle ride from Canton, Georgia to Yale, Michigan. I met up with some friends and from there we left on the Lake Superior circle tour through Ontario Minnesota Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
Now that my wife, Heather and I have settled here in Englewood, Florida, we look forward to reconnecting people with their love for motorcycles and riding.
